Regarding Chloe,
Guys she's doing just fine, after Brown Bunny she has
gone on to lend her acting chops as one of the three wives in HBO's BIG
LOVE.
Disregarding Mel
When inibriated, with mind clouded and appropriate stop
gaps with regard to sociability impaired what usually bubbles up is a window
into the real fabric of a person. Mel's been found out but for many
including myself his legacy of misogyny, homophobia, and anti-Semitism was
veiled in many of his films but clearly in evidence when working with him at
press events and publicity tours. He is foul. Alcoholism may
have been the result of trying to stifle his inner demons of turmoil and
conflict carrying the weight of such hate and intolerance that were drummed
into him as an adolescent, but I still have a hard time summoning up the
appropriate compassion to forgive him or the scores of other personalities and
spokespersons who carry the torch for their political or religious
affiliations and in turn their frequently stifling and repressive
dogmas. I know that finding forgiveness is the moral benchmark
but I would much rather see them smote from this
earth.......
