[MORPHMET] Re: Extract Classifier from ID string

2018-03-22 Thread dsbriss_dmd
Hi Nelly, in your CSV file you need to use record identifiers that will
allow you to break apart the samples the way you want. I recently did a
project where I used the following:

rme0031
rme0201
rme0032
rme0202
etc, there were about 50 of these subjects/timepoints.

The subject is identified as 003, 020, etc and the timepoint we added as
the final digit, 1 or 2.

When using the Extract Classifier from ID string you'd specify the
characters (from the left, subject starts as character 4-6) and timepoint
would start and end at character 7.

I hope that helps.

Re: ***SPAM*** [MORPHMET] Extract Classifier from ID string

2018-03-22 Thread Carmelo Fruciano

Dear Bekkym

I'm assuming you actually have a problem with the specimen names in the
file you imported in MorphoJ.

It's hard to know what exactly the problem is with the information you
provide, but I will point out that a trick which may or may not apply to
your specific case is to convert the TPS file into an NTS file using
tpsUtil, specifying the option to use the image name as names of your
observations (i.e., specimens). At that point, you import the NTS
instead of the TPS.

I hope this helps,

Carmelo

I am trying to generate CVA but this is not possible because initially
i didn't ectract classifiers.
This is because my data appeared as numbers from1-70 in morphoj
instead of sample ids that were in the .jpg file.

As shown below i.e 0,1,2,3.79.
Therefore i could not classify.
How can this be corrected so that i have the full names instead of
numbers in the classifier column.

Re: [MORPHMET] Extract Classifier from ID string

2018-03-22 Thread Chris Klingenberg

Dear Nelly

I presume you imported the data from a TPS file.

From the MorphoJ documentation:
"It is often the case that the entry for the IMAGE= keyword in TPS files
contains more useful information for making the identifier than that of
the ID= keyword. To use the IMAGE= keyword, it is therefore helpful to
disable the ID= keyword. This can be done easily with a text editor by
changing every occurrence of "ID=" into something else, for instance
"@ID=" (in this way, the change is reversible if you want to use the
same TPS file for something else...). If this is done, MorphoJ will use
the IMAGE= keyword instead."
http://flywings.org.uk/MorphoJ_guide/frameset.htm?fundamentals/fileTypes.htm

Suggestion: make the changes above on a *copy* of your TPS file, because
the TPS software may not be able to read it any more.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Chris
