I would like to announce a new paper, of which the early view pdf is already online.
Mitteroecker P, Cheverud JM, Pavlicev M (2016) Multivariate Analysis of Genotype-Phenotype Association. Genetics http://www.genetics.org/content/early/2016/02/18/genetics.115.181339 It offers an exploratory strategy for mapping multivariate data and is particularly suited for geometric morphometrics. The new method identifies patterns of allelic variation (genetic latent variables) that are maximally associated - in terms of effect size - with patterns of phenotypic variation (phenotypic latent variables). It thereby separates phenotypic features under strong genetic control from less genetically determined features and thus permits an analysis of the multivariate structure of genotype-phenotype association, including its "dimensionality" and the clustering of genetic and phenotypic variables within this association.
