The Max Planck Weizmann Center for Integrative Archaeology and Anthropology at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig (Germany) invites applications for a post-doctoral position to work on a collaborative project to study the effect of domestication on bite force performance and skull and muscle anatomy in rats. We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate with experience in in vivo bite force measurements, anatomical dissection, muscle physiology, microscopy, histology, immunohistochemistry, CT imaging and/or geometric morphometrics. This position is set to begin as soon as 1 November 2014, and applications will be considered until the position is filled. The initial length of the appointment will be one year, with an option for extension. The selected candidate should have a Ph.D. (or be close to completion) in a relevant area and a significant track record of research.
