Dear all,

I would like to offer a 12 months post-doctoral position within a labex BCDiv
funded project entitled “Experimental Domestication: for new morphometric
markers of the domestication process in Archaeology”.

This project is housed in the Bioarchaeology lab (UMR 7209) at the Natural
History Museum of Paris. The post-doctorate project will focus on investigating
the impact of captivity on skull development of an ungulate model: the wild
boar (Sus scrofa).

The role of the post doctorate :

• Perform the segmentation of skulls and mandibles of 200 specimens based on
existing DICOM data
• Design a 3D Geometric Morphometric protocol for ontogenetic series of skulls
and mandibles
• Perform trajectory, co-variation, and modularity analyses based on the 3D
shape data sets.
• Write a scientific paper for high profile journal

At the Lab, the post-doctorate will work with the PI (Thomas Cucchi), a PhD
student (Hugo Harbers) focusing on the appendicular skeleton and three other
Co-Is (Anthony Herrel, Vincent Debat and Raphael Cornette), all specialists in
their field of expertise (Biomechanics, Development and Morphometrics).

General requirements and skills:

• Good knowledge of 3D image analyses and segmentation (Avizo, Geomagic,
Meshlab)
• Good knowledge of 3D GMM approaches
• Good scientific writing skills

Available to start 1st June 2018.

The successful candidate will be employed by the CNRS with a full time position
for the duration of one year. Salary indication € 36.000,- gross per year,
