This morning at 9AM, a beautiful, adult plumaged, light phase Swainson's
Hawk was sitting in the short trees just to the west of Conley Ave., where
it ends at 140th Street, west of the marsh[ie where 140th used to continue
on to highway 52.

As of 7pm tonight the Osprey has returned to Twig. I spotted it on my
drive home. It was inspecting the nest from last year that was moved to a
pole just beside the powerline pole it has preferred for the last two
seasons.

This evening I found a pair of Red-throated Loons on Little Rock Lake in
Benton County. With my scope I was initially a bit unsure of the
identification, but I called Phil Chu and he was able to come out and
confirm that they were indeed Red-throated Loons. When we left at dark,
the birds were
