A Northern Mockingbird was at Wood Lake in Richfield from 7:30 to 7:45 am=
on Thursday. It spent time on the path right in front of the nature cent=

building until chased off by joggers. It did not sing while I was there.=

It's been a wet week at Deep Portage, and the
birding still seems slow. 3 Gray Catbirds, 2
Redstarts (one a recapture from last May) a
Wilson's Warbler and an Ovenbird were all the

During an otherwise slow morning at Scharr's Bluff, Spring Lake RP, at 9:15am,
I heard a distant ovenbird that sounded suspicious. As I moved closer, the
cadence was more like a Kentucky Warbler. Not wanting

After a nice morning out birding, I got the best bird of the day right aside
of my garage when I got home. A Connecticut Warbler was sitting on top of

Superior at 32nd Street along Park Point. It was associating with a

When i got home from work tonight, after yet another cool rainy day, and sat
out on the back porch, my spirits lifted when some colorful birds visited the
yard including Blackburnian Warb., Tennessee W., Cape May W.,
I drove by the wetland near the new Baptist church on Salem Road SW of
Rochester at 9:30 AM this morning and saw 3 Egrets. 2 were Great Egrets, one
looked different. A minute after I stopped to get the scope out, the first 2
flew off towards the NE and out of view.
