Extensive searching throughout the day by multiple parties failed to
refind the White-winged Dove at the 40th Ave West/Erie Pier area in
Duluth, including an unsuccessful search by yours truly between 8:30
and 9:30 AM, but at 5:35 PM this afternoon (Thursday, 8 October) the
dove was seen in

This morning as I headed to work, at roughly 7:10 AM I saw an owl fly up off
the road in front of me about 100 yards ahead. It lifted up off the road and
then almost immediately went down and landed in a soybean field. It looked a
little smallish for a GHOW and I suspect it was a Short-
Horned Lark have descended upon the Grand Marais Recreation Park
(city campground).

When Drew Smith and I returned from seeing the W-w Dove yesterday, I wrote an
email and thought I posted it to MOU-net. Seeing Drew's post today alerted me
that I, in fact, had not sent it. My apologies. Anyway, Drew's post was no
doubt better than mine.

Yesterday (Wednesday) at approximately 9:50 AM, Jim Mattsson and I saw the
White-winged Dove in Duluth at the 40th Ave W/ Erie Pier area, where it has
been seen since Sunday. The bird flushed and flew across the open area there
with low weeds, and landed in the willows bordering the harbor water

While birding in Grant county today, with Rick Specht we observed two immature
White-faced/Glossy Ibis at the Spink WPA. The birds were observed only in
flight, then landed out of sight in the Marsh on the North side of CR 34/170th
St. We observed the birds in flight in on
