Sorry for the late post - Yesterday, July 30 we observed 7 Buff-breasted
Sandpipers at Harley's Sod Farm. The location is NE of North Branch on 400th,
.6 mi E of Hemingway Av.
The birds were on the south side of the road in the dried grass field.

On the South Dakota listserve a Mottled Duck was reported in Marshall County,
Northeast South Dakota not too far from MN. Also, the Orange-billed Nightengale
Thrush continues to be seen in the Black hills near Spearfish. Amazing records

Next weekend is the three day shorebird workshop that Bob Janssen and I put on
each year. We just had a couple of cancellations so if anyone is interested in

Here's a belated shorebird count from the previously reported location at Cory
Lake, Lac Qui Parle County, done on 29 July (2602 shorebirds of 14 species
observed). Cory Lake is 7 miles south of Madison and 1.5 miles east.
