Walked around for a few hours at the Old Cedar Bridge. Good diversity of
waterfowl including; Trumpeter Swan, Northern Pintail, Gadwall, Green-winged

Thanks to everyone that took a look at the Scoter pictures today. A few
people went to Lake Waconia this evening and found the 3 Scoters along the road
west of the beach. They agreed that the 3rd bird was an oddly plumaged male
Black Scoter.

At 5:45 pm this evening while scanning the Gulls on Lake Harriet in
Minneapolis, Hennepin County I located 3 White-winged Scoters. One was an
adult male, and all 3 grouped closely together flashed their white secondaries
while they flapped their wings numerous times. I completely ignored the G
Long-tailed Duck still present today between 1230 and 1 o'clock. It was seen on
the south end of eastern Lake Vadnais from Vadnais Lake Blvd. Thank you to the

Spent the morning birding from Duluth to Two Harbors. Counted at least 300+
snow buntings between the two cities. That is a conservative estimate. One
flock had close to that many birds in it, plus several smaller flocks of 10 to
15 birds.
