One of the problems with nesting Shrikes is that the suitable habitat
includes trees that are often removed by the landowner as unwanted weeds. I
have seen nesting trees removed or trimmed in almost every case where I have
found the nest. the most recent was the bushes where they were nesting

As it cleared on Sunday, it became a lovely day for birds of the summer
fields -Randolph Industrial Park had more Dickcissels than I have ever
seen
I have a second hand report of a White-winged Scoter at Fisherman's Point in
Hoyt Lakes, St. Louis County this past weekend. The bird was reportedly
photographed by Audrey Evers this morning (20 June). This is extraordinary,
but not unprecedented during the summer season. Spring migrants
