Enjoyed a morning walk at the Rapids Lake unit, of the Minnesota Valley
National Wildlife Refuge. I birded the loop trail South of the visitor center
and the parking area by the visitor center.
Here are a few of the species I observed:

Started the day out at Old Cedar Bridge. Saw nothing new or exciting.
Yesterday someone reported seeing kinglets, grebes, Nelsons Sparrow and a dozen
different warblers.
Then went to Veterans Memorial Park in Richfield and again saw nothing much.

So much for the old adage that hummers leave the Metro area on September 25! I
have one here right this minute, thoroughly enjoying the fresh nectar I put out
yesterday. Had not seen them since last Sunday so I figured they all saw the
calendar...

The meeting will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4. This
month, the speaker is Don Arnosti, Policy Director for Audubon Minnesota.
He will be speaking about environmental issues and the Minnesota
legislature.
The meeting is at Beth El synagogue, 5224 W. 26th St., St. Louis Park.
