Yesterday morning I located a singing Henslow's Sparrow at Minneopa State
Park. The bird was in roughly the same location as last year, about 50-75
yards west of the parking lot half-way along the prairie road. The bird
While working on my breeding bird block, T66R17a, I found a singing Wood
Thrush. And unless he was a ventriloquist, there was another Wood Thrush
singing a ways back in the woods on the other side of the road. I was on
Forest Road 479C, about 1/2 mile from Co Rd. 24 in an area of mixed forest

There was a lull in the rain this morning and I could hear an unfamiliar
warbler calling from behind my house so I put my baby Caitlin on my back and
headed out with the binoculars. It turned out the warblers behind the house
were a pair of Blackburnian and a Black-throated Green Warbler. Just
at 2 o'clock this afternoon I found a great gray owl about 5 miles south of
waskish on highway 72. it was hunting from a telephone pole. it was very
willing to have its picture taken. when I left the area it was still
sitting on the telephone pole.

At around 12:25 there was a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD at the Park Point
Recreation Area. The bird was in the first clump of trees before the last
parking lot before sky harbor airport. After about 10 min the bird took off
and flew towards the soccer fields.
Also on Park Point there where 2 RED-THROATED

During our late afternoon respite from the rains, I stopped at Westwood
Hills Nature Center to see if the storms had stalled any migrants. I
