I was at my desk at home, when a small group of Rusty Blackbirds landed in the
red pine in front of the window. First ones I've seen in some time.

Hi All,
It's not too late to register for this Saturday's conference on diversity in
birding. Here's the link to conference info:

The Star Tribune has a nice article on the conference and issue - here's the
link for that:
Hi All,
Just a reminder that Minnesota Moments has the Fall installment of the
4-part/seasonal article about birding along the Lake Wobegon Trail by Bill
Boles Russ Ergen in it's current issue.

This morning I took a walk in Hartley Nature Area. Had some flyover
migrants, as well as some Palm Warblers butterbutts at eye level. eBird
list below, with some pictures afterwards. Enjoy!

Say's Phoebe still present at McQuade safe harbor. Was catching flies at the
restroom when I arrived. Since then it has alternated between the motel
property and the harbor. Many other birds moving down the shore as well.

I just found a Cackling Goose at the golf course on the west side of
Lexington Ave. north of Como Ave. The bird is foraging next to what appears
to be a Lesser Canada Goose among a couple hundred Giant Canadas, so three
sizes of geese are present here.

Just walked the dog along Bavaria Hills Trail in Chaska and passed a tree
filled with 20+ Cedar Waxwings filling up on berries. This morning about 10 am,
at the dog park in Victoria, an Osprey landed in the top of a tree before
sailing off to check out the nearby lake. Lovely birding weather!
