Tern was still at posted site from 8:10 to 8:30 P.M. Last night. Light
was fading but very adequate. Tern was first sitting on mud flat in SW
corner and then was circling and diving as in foraged. John Ellis- St.

Least Terns at the previously described site near Luverne, Rock County.

I will be leading a MRVAC field trip this Sunday (8/24) in the Canon River
bottoms area near Redwing. All are welcome, no reservations and please no
calls to let me know you are coming.
Directions: From Hwy 52, head towards Redwing. Continue down the long
hill past the turn off for
Denny and I, along with Bob Janssen and Dave Cahlander have been watching the
2 terns.and it looks like one is an breeding plumage adult and one is a
juvenile.
Denny and I have continued to watch these 2 birds and saw the adult feed the
juvenile, as of 12:00 PM (Noon).

Hi all,
It appears that I have an extra week. The bird hike is a week from Sunday
on 8/24, We will meet at 8am.

Both terns observed 7:05 to 7:25PM Wednesday evening - very hyperactive
- seemed to hit the water every minute or so.
