The Red Phalarope at the Wells sewage ponds in Faribault Co has been seen again
as recently as Friday afternoon, Nov 27, although nothing about this has been
reported to mou-net since it was first posted by Wayne Feder on Nov 25.

Ron Erpelding and I decided to make another run for it this morning. However
the ponds are all completely iced over and not even any waterfowl present.

Kim Eckert expressed interest on info regarding the Red Phalarope at Wells WTP
first found by Wayne Feder several days ago.
Kevin Smith and I went to Wells on Friday. After a long cold search the bird
was finally found south of County 109 and just west of 560th Ave.

over (as well as several other ponds and lakes that we passed on the trip
down that had been open yesterday).

I noticed that when I looked at ebird for the location of the Red Phalarope
(reported by Clinton Neienhous) the map show
2 ponds north of Highway 109 (Waseca Co).
NOTE – there are 2 more ponds south of Highway 209 that do not show up on the
map – unless you go to satellite view.

The Lewis's woodpecker was present today around 3:50 at the farm. It was
present in some of the pines behind the house, and then
spotted by my Mom at sunset last night off Hwy 78 between Ottertail Lake and
Perham at Rush Lake where the Ottertail River leaves the lake on the East side
near parking area. have pics. no apparent wound or visible cause of death. many
wires overhead; we suspect was a wire strike.
