There appears to be 2 families of Black-necked Stilts nesting in the area.
There were 6 on the north side of CR 36 east of 520th and 3 more on the south
side just west of CR 36. The adults were vocal and defensive.

Singing male White-winged Crossbills have become quite conspicuous in the
Sax-Zim Bog during the last month.
At least 5 males have been singing and squabbling along McDavitt Road bog
stretch recently.
They have been seen in at least 6 locations in the Bog and I've also heard them
flying over
