The Burroughs Birders hit the trail today with 21 4th & 5th grade members… many
of them new to birding. Tomorrow we hit they trail with another 6 new birders.
Today we spotted 15+ species.
Highlights that all or most got to see
Black-Crowned Night Heron
Hummingbird
Cedar Waxwings
Goldfinch
After all the excellent posts about the Sabine’s gull, we drove to Albany this
morning. We found the bird on the water in about the middle of the west pool.
But while we were looking at it ANOTHER Sabine’s flew by, very near to us. The
wing pattern was seen repeatedly and very clearly, and
two FOS Myrtles at birdbath with female Redstart and two FOS Lincolns Sparrows
at ground feeder

Hi,
I got a phone call from a former co-worker that was commuting from Alexandria
to New York Mills this morning and saw what he believes were 2 Whooping Cranes.
He said they were flying across Hwy 29 between Hwy 210 and Deer Creek. They
were about 30 feet above the ground, flying west
