John Holden of Northfield, Rice Co., had a Tufted Titmouse visit his
feeders yesterday (Saturday). I posted a photo on the Minnesota Birding
FaceBook site. The bird was not observed today, but has been reported by
other birders during the past week in that general vicinity.

Earlier this afternoon, I found a surf scoter on the south end of Lake
Lillian. The bird was just east of where cty 8 goes south. Overall
numbers of waterfowl have dropped sharply in the last 10 days and the
big last push (which includes swans) has not happened yet...at least
here.

At about 1130, a Townsend's Solitaire flew across the Coleraine baseball
field next to the ice arena. It landed in the taller pines along Hwy 169,
but there isn't a convenient spot to park near there to follow up. Maybe
it will stick around the numerous crabapple trees in the neighborhood.
