Hi Keith, Snipe? No. Forgetting about the time of year, the habitat and location are both wrong. The winnowing call of the Snipe is a sound that is produced by its feathers during display flight. So, you would hear the sound above you, not below you. And, the habitat is wrong. The bird would be
