A single individual is at the Armstrong restoration project my car was
parked facing north almost to the end of the deep water on the right hand
side of the road the bird was on the left side and extreme distance to the
left of a strip of green cattails. It’s appears to be the first county
record
I found single female (or juvenile?) white-winged crossbill in Lake Alice
Bog this morning. It was calling and foraging high in spruces.

When I was chair of the MOU Awards Committee, the committee sent a Certificate
of Appreciation from the MOU to the Tollefson family for their continuing
hospitality in allowing birders to enter this property. I remember it was sent
to Beth Tollefson, but I no longer have her contact information
I already posted this to Facebook. There is a shiny new sign now erected at
the entrance of this eBird hotspot. It says private property invited
guests only. I don’t know what the procedure is to get permission.
