I have been looking everywhere to identify a bird I saw this week in
Whitewater State Park. I only saw its hind end and tail but the tail was so
distinctive I didn't think it would be hard to identify - but I can't find
it anywhere.
Habitat: Deciduous woods
Size: Between robin and warbler.
Hit the par pretty close to sunset so, with the cloud cover, sights weren't
as good as they could be.
Along with the regulars. lots of Canadian geese with goslings and mallards
with ducklings. Saw wood duck adults but no chicks yet.
Heard a red-bellied woodpecker.
Saw FYO Baltimore oriole and
- Canada Goose flock fly-over
- Mallard many
- Great Blue Heron 1
- American Goldfinch 2-3
- Common Crow fly-overs
- Pied Billed Grebe1
Waterfowl at Como Lake this afternoon:

A flock of sandhill cranes flew low over my NE Minneapolis home at about
19:00 this evening. Probably about 12 - 20.
