Mary and I went to Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge today for the first
time. On the wildlife drive we 3 Sand Hill cranes, some Ring Neck ducks, 2
pairs of Trumpeter Swans. Of each pair one appeared on a nest and the other
swimming close by. They were on two different ponds.
The highlight was

My wife and I counted about 40 Pelicans on the Black Dog cooling pond at
6:30 PM today. They were on the road side of the pond close enough for a
good view.
As we were leaving at 7:00 PM, about 15 more flew in.
