After Conny's tip I zipped out and found the duck near the intersection of Calhoun parkway and Rose Lane. It was with Common and Hooded Mergansers and some common Goldeneyes. It was between the floating dock and the shore ice. As I lingered near my car watching it another car came along, lost

I saw redpolls on two occasions over the weekend between Lutsen and Tofte 100 yards from HWy 61. The first was a very dark single redpoll sitting at a feeder with a pne siskin. The next sighting was of a large flock of mostly pale redpolls, much paler than the one seen the previous day. I
