Took a MRVAC group up to Carlos Avery today and we were able to get some
great looks at the Short-eared Owls, that have been reported from there for
the last month or so. Still plenty of them around and Rough-legged Hawks
were also observed in good numbers there to. Roads in the WMA had a light
snow cover, but were easy to drive on with a small car. Here are a couple of
the species we observed at Carlos Avery WMA:

Observations were at pools number 9 & 5
Northern Harrier - 4
Rough-legged Hawk - 10+
Short-eared Owl - 12+ - first observed at 4:20 pm
