Celebrate Urban Birding and Endangered Species! Bring the whole family to these FREE activities where you can celebrate, interact with, and learn how you can help our feathered friends! When: Thursday, May 12 through Saturday, May 21, 2016 Spanish Language programming kicks off the celebration May 12 through 14 including a bilingual screening of the internationally acclaimed film, The Messenger sponsored by Audubon Minnesota and a presentation and guided hike featuring Francisco Jose Muñoz,a Nicaraguan coffee farmer and co-author of the bi-lingual Guide to the Birds of Nicaragua. We’ll get to know a variety of neotropical bird species and discover the close relationship between humans and birds through these bilingual programs. Celebrate Endangered Species Day on Friday, May 20 and the exciting recovery of some of our local raptors and regional songbirds through interactive stations and displays in the Bloomington Education and Visitor Center. The celebration concludes on Saturday, May 21 with a full day of family-friendly programming including FREE Birdhouse Building Workshop, Raptor Center Demonstration, Face Painting and Crafts, Guided Bird Hikes, and two screenings of The Messenger. Jon Poppele starts off the afternoon with Bird Language, followed by The Messenger and an Audubon Minnesota Evening Bird Hike.
