Good morning,
I just wanted to pass along that recent photos of the Medicine Lake mute
swan show a red band (and no USGS band), making this an escapee. Photos can
be seen on the Minnesota Birding Facebook page.

Just finished driving and birding Medicine Lake. Tons of birds!! Saw 9 Bald
Eagles, lots of Tundra swans 600 common mergansers and lots more! Great fall
migration day!

Visited Clifton Regional Park and saw a fair amount of ducks in the large
inlet around the corner from the boat launch.

Nearby I visited Theo Wirth Park / Golf course to look for the recent Ross's
Goose, but I had no luck a
Went fishing on Medicine Lake on May 8. There were some rafts of coots, nesting
bald eagles, wood ducks, mallard. and some bluebills.
Also some Horned Grebes. When we approached them with the boat, they ran on
the water much like a loon and then took off. The flew just a foot or so above

At the south end of Medicine Lake there are hundreds and hundreds of Ducks,
coots, and Mergansers! Many varietys! Wow!
