David Sibley keynotes the 20th annual Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds May
18-21, with headquarters at Detroit Mountain. Morning fieldtrips (nearly 200
species recorded each year) workshops, Opticron Optics, evening
presentations. Thursday workshops on MN Bats and White Nose Syndrome by Earl
Johnson, 10 steps to finding your dream bird by Doug Buri. Thursday night
presentation by Carrol Henderson on the effects of bp oil spill on Common
Loon. Friday night presentation by Ernesto Reyes, a tour leader/photographer
from Cuba, on the Beautiful Birds of Cuba. Free Saturday Social at M State
College - Sibley and Henderson will sign your books, Opticron Optics,
exhibitors. Saturday evening keynote on The Psychology of Bird I.D. by David
