Warren Nelson Memorial Bog Dedication & Bird Field Trip REMEMBERING WARREN: A HERO OF BOGS AND BOG BIRDS Warren's birding friends donated over $37,000 to make this 40 acre bog preservation project a reality. The Warren Nelson Memorial Bog is located on Blue Spruce Road 1/2 to 3/4 mile N of CR133 on the west side. Check it out this winter when Friends of Sax-Zim Bog will have an extensive bird feeding station set up. Saturday, October 10, 2015 COME TO ONE OR BOTH! DEDICATION will be from 2:30-4pm, Saturday October 10 at the Meadowlands Community Center in Meadowlands, MN. Stories of Warren shared, photos taken by Warren, and more. This will be a casual event. Afterwards, we'll carpool over to the 40 acre Warren Nelson Memorial Bog to check it out. A SAX-ZIM BIRDING FIELD TRIP will precede the Dedication. Meet at the Friends of Sax-Zim Bog Welcome Center at 8 am and we'll bird until noon. This is not an owl trip but we'll look for migrating sparrows, longspurs, cranes, magpies, grouse and more. Ending around noon will give folks a chance to eat lunch in Meadowlands or Cotton before the Dedication. FIELD TRIP IS FREE FOR ALL!
