A single individual is at the Armstrong restoration project my car was
parked facing north almost to the end of the deep water on the right hand
side of the road the bird was on the left side and extreme distance to the
left of a strip of green cattails. It’s appears to be the first county
record

bird is on the smaller of the two ponds (i.e. the northern pond).

Around 4:30 this afternoon, Larry and Jan Kramer and I observed a Whimbrel
accompanied by a Marbled Godwit at the airport at the end of Park Point. The
birds were first seen flying but settled onto the airport area behind the rocky
point that is to the right of the airport buildings.

edges if the pond south of Pheasant Drive, while the Godwits have flown into
the grassy area on the north side.

I just got a call that there is a Whimbrel on the south side of 210th St. East
and Northfield Boulevard in Vermillion, Dakota Co., the area where the
shorebirds have been previously reported from.

When I found an interior whimbrel a couple of weeks ago, I recalled the
interesting research project on whimbrels based on the Eastern Shore of
Virginia. Whimbrels are being trapped there in spring and some are being
equipped with satellite transmitters. This area is a very important spring
stopo
I found a whimbrel today feeding in an extensive short-grass area in
southwestern Cass County. The site was just to the south of the short
stretch of MN 64 that jogs east-west between Hubbard and Cass Counties. The
bird was about 100 feet south of the Hubbard County line.

After Easter Mass I stepped outside and saw 15 White Pelicans flying over St.

Many observers saw the earlier-reported Whimbrel this afternoon on both sides
of Blaine Av. just south of 200th or Cty 66 in SE Dakota County, aka Jirik Sod
Farms. It was last seen shortly after 6:00 p.m. (of course minutes before I

(7-28-10) at about 12:30. The bird stood out among the other shorebirds with
its larger size and long decurved bill, as well as it overall drab plumage
