The First Annual BRRRRDATHON --The World's Coldest Birdathon!-- will take place
Friday and Saturday January 14-15, 2011.
Teams of 2 to 4 members will search the hinterlands and urban wilds of
northeastern Minnesota to find the most bird species.
A one-day Saturday event is also available (for those who don't want to
frostbite their nose too badly!)
There will also be a solo "Photothon" where the photographer with the best
10-image portfolio from the two-days will win.
Compilation/awards/photo brunch on Sunday January16th at Hartley Nature Center
in Duluth.

The goal is to raise money for lot purchase and creation of a Sax-Zim Birder
Welcome Center in the bog--A place where visiting birders can get the latest
bird sightings, watch feeders (off the road), use an outhouse, AND warm up!
BirdNation! is the sponsoring organization and their mission is to help
America's threatened birds and bird habitats. The current project is focusing
on education and awareness of Black Spruce/Tamarack bogs and their birdlife in
northern Minnesota.
