Thank you to everyone that responded to my inquiry. This will teach me to not
research a bird when I am walking out the door!
The bird in my yard was the Eastern Wood-PEWEE. :) I think I had gone up and
down the list of flycatchers so many times the names blurred.
Thanks again!

Amphibian, reptile, and invertebrate prey have seasonal importance,

My husband and I saw a Northern Hawk Owl in our neighbor's tree (in South
Minneapolis) this evening, Tuesday June 5th, 2012, about 8pm. It was
feeding on a small bird.
It was clearly a Northern Hawk Owl. There was a second one nearby but we
did not get a good look at it.

Couple thoughts on this topic...

and just a couple weeks ago, Larry witnessed the adults plucking earthworms off
the pavement of his road.

Falls Creek SNA was the destination of the day for the needed hour of
exercise, with the Louisiana Waterthrush as an incentive. It did not
disappoint. When a feathered phantom zipped past heading upstream, we
followed and found it at the creek bed. It quickly rose to perch in a
sapling above the

The first of the season for me. Thanks. I noticed earlier that the bouncing Bet
