I was at the location today and there were considerable numbers of both
Greater White-fronted and Snow Geese. I suspect there are also some Ross's
Geese there as well (I noticed a few smaller birds but didn't have time to
check the bill size/color).
The location where I found the flock is along
Hey birders,
I have not been back to this location south of Madelia, but it is pretty
good during goose migration typically. There were lots of Snow Geese,
Greater White-fronted Geese and a couple of Ross's Geese seen passing
through Mankato today. I'm sure there are still some birds around.
I am seeing some interest in southern Minnesota Goose locations.
I arrived at Talcot WMA shortly before sunset yesterday. Two large flocks
of geese totaling ~1500 birds were leaving (flying east). I was able to

Hi,
I was able to go back to the Sleepy Eye WTP's this morning and the Sandpiper I
reported yesterday as a likely Bairds Sandpiper was still present. Viewing

to Panama. Now all we have to do is get organized, get dates and
reservations before can make any more concrete arrangements. In the meantime
I will check out all the suggestions. Thanks again.

Earlier this week there was a report of many geese at a "Goose Magnet"
south of Madelia. I would drive down on Saturday, March 12, if they're
likely to be still there. They may have moved with the warmer weather. If
some one has information would they respond to me at my aol address:
Thanks so much for the directions.
