Today a friend from St Paul called to say she had a pair of
Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. It has been 3 years since she has had them.

Had a flock of 20+ male Bobolinks singing at Mound Spring SNA/WMA in Yellow
Medicine
County at sunset this evening.
Lots of American and Great Plains Toads calling in the same area.

A late AM 10-12 walk at TS Roberts Bird Sanctuary Lake Harriet Minneapolis
yesterday.
Of note:
4 palm warblers
6 yellow rumped
Chestnut-sided warbler singing near pavilion side entrance (not seen)
Sora rail whinny call in grassy marsh in middle of sanctuary

A beautiful weekend spent exploring the Whitewater WMA for ramps, morels, and
warblers. While we had great success on the first two, warblers were strangely
scarce. Along the North Fork of the Whitewater, we only observed one blue wing
warbler, one black throated green, two yellows, a few palm

18-21, with headquarters at Detroit Mountain. Morning fieldtrips (nearly 200
