[mou-net] Albino / Leucistic Robin?

2016-10-12 Thread Greg Vassilopoulos
On Saturday, October 8th my wife and I observed a pure white robin size bird
sitting in a tree off the Old Cedar Bridge parking lot. This bird was in a
medium size berry tree behind the small pond on the right (north) side of path
as you leave the parking lot heading west toward the new boardwalk with
observation platform. We were distracted briefly, when we looked again he was
gone, so we did not get to see him fly.

I managed to get one decent photo thru our spotting scope, but not as close-up
as I would like...

Has anyone else seen this bird?

[mou-net] Loggerhead Shrike (Dakota County)

2015-06-22 Thread Greg Vassilopoulos
After walking the Cannon River Bottom trail on Sunday June 21st and finding
a male Cerulean Warbler exactly where Steve Weston posted (thank you
Steve), during our ride home we decided to swing by the 180th Street Marsh.
We exited highway 52 at 190th Street drove east then took a left onto Emery
Ave. and heading north toward 180th. There we found a very cooperative
Loggerhead Shrike sitting on the wires (east side of street).

[mou-net] Tufted Titmouse at 9 Mile Creek Hennepin County

2015-04-23 Thread Greg Vassilopoulos
Today, April 23rd at 12 noon my wife and I saw two Tufted Titmouse on the
south portion of 9 Mile Creek in Bloomington.

We entered the Creek from the 106th Street entrance west of 35W and walked
south toward the Minnesota River. Just past the last bridge and before the
1.8 mile marker we observed this pair on the left side (heading south).
