Had an excellent look at an extremely early, spring migrant Hermit Thrush
slowly pumping its russet tail up and down along the northwestern part of the
Prairie Loop in Afton State Park at 4 p.m. today. Other spring migrants
included 1 Turkey Vulture, 30 Sandhill Crane flying northwest in V formation
high over the park, 1 Pine Siskin, and 1 Song Sparrow along the northern and
eastern sections of the Trout Brook Loop in the west-central section of the
park.
