Several ospreys have been seen returning to their nests in the past few days in the metro area! They have been slower to return this year as a result of the snow and frozen lakes. With many lakes still frozen we expect we might see them sporadically as they check their territories and then seek open waters to fish. The Twin Cities Metro Osprey Watch is monitoring all known nests in the 8 county area and we would greatly appreciate reports of new nests or sightings! We are a passionate group of osprey lovers that are dedicated to research, rescues and education.
