Interesting observations regarding the Osprey and compost at Poplar Lake.
Several of us have observed that behavior there also. I do not think it is the
heat they are seeking, but they are using that material to pack between the
sticks to make a more solid floor to their nest. Other Ospreys use
My son and I did the Crane Count this morning. Our site is Poplar Lake, near
Sherwood Rd and CR J, Ramsey Co. There's an osprey platform near there. We
observed an osprey fly over Sherwood and return to the platform with a big
clump of compost, probably from the compost site on the east side of
