We just saw a pair of sand hill cranes in a field along St. Louis County Rd. 52 
just north of the rail road tracks.

Erika Sitz reports that she has had a report from a home owner that Sand Hill 
Cranes arrived on Monday night to a marsh in Ramsay (Anoka County) near Ramsay 
Blvd and Alpine, where they have been residents in previously.

They have arrived in Chisago Co., too...calling from nearby fields this
evening along with the constant honking of Canada Geese.

it is: first of the year sandhills heard yesterday eve in far northeast 
Washington Co - probably the same pair returning to their breeding site.
