There is a problem with the server (HawkCommunications.com) or my
software (Communicator 4.07, Quarterdeck Winsock, Windows 3.1).  For the
past week occasionally after making connection per the winsock, the
message "No response.  Server may be down or not responding" has
appeared after I clicked to send or get mail or download from the web. 
A number of hours later or the next day there was normal access. 

This started when the ISP made an upgrade with new identifiers and phone
numbers.  I used the Profile Manager and mistakenedly used the same user
name to add a second profile with the new parameters.  Seeing the
undesired result, I deleted the profile and added one with new user name
and file name.  This worked and I followed the procedure I found in UFAQ
to move the old user files to the new file name.  Then the on again -
off again operation started.  The ISP tech support says others are not
having this problem.  I have deleted the user profile and re-entered it
a number of times during this troubled period.

Is there something about the profile manager that could cause this?  I
would appreciate your help.  With luck I will be able to access your
reply.
