Ya know, given the number of posts and their respective topics on the Park
Board over the years, the creation and continuing work of Park Watch, and the
large amount of coverage in the news media; it is a wonder to me that the State
of Minnesota has not become involved at all. MCLU/ACLU aside from the the free
speech issues that now appear moot, just don't cut it. It seems to me that
the state auditor and attorney general's office should be doing something
before
or after the November elections, because our power as voters and
participating citizens to direct government seems to be somewhat limited as far
as MPRB
goes. Given that MPRB was created by an act of the MN Legislature, it seems
like
state government should have a hand in helping us make MPRB more accountable
in all sorts of ways.

Am I way off base here? I'm thinking of drafting a request for action from
both offices (MN State Auditor & Attorney General's Offices). The parks belong
to everyone in the State of MN and the MPRB are just caretakers if you ask
me--accountability and process of MPRB is not only a Minneapolis concern.
