Jim Mork writes; "Jim has lots of reasons to assume she was agreeing with him. By the way, it just struck me in reading his loooonnnng diatribe how much he sounds like John Ashcroft. Crying "emergency" is the way you enable the idea that civil rights are "too costly" (only limousine liberals really like them)."
As some one who detests Ashcroft and feels he has done more to attack the Constitution of the United States than any other person in my memory, I am offended by Jim Mork's insult. But I am a big boy who finds humor in the comparison and in Jim's description of "loooonnng diatribe". From someone as long-winded as Jim Mork can be, that indeed could be considered a serious charge. Also, sadly, one which I would probably have to plead guilt to. Isn't it amazing that Jim Mork can ride his bike down Franklin and see no crime and drug dealing? Jim sees no emergency about the many murders occurring in other people's neighborhood. Of course I could be just imagining those too, but then the News keeps reporting them. Perhaps the news media is just hyping my imagination for me, and it is just not one of the "facts" that Jim Mork always seems to want? Perhaps I should rethink that Limousine liberal tag and define it as someone who looks down from his house on the hill and scoffs at someone up to his or her nose in flood water and assures the other person that "Its not that bad. It has not even reached my porch yet!". Such good people are the ones who scream about graffiti on their garage, but for some reason cannot even see crime in the "Impacted Neighborhoods". Perhaps some people need to take off their rose colored glasses of self-absorption and see the real world. I guess Jim Mork needs someone shot on HIS front porch, or someone throwing a brick through HIS window, or shooting HIS house to think there is a problem. The news media carries almost daily stories about people being shot in the head or beaten to death with baseball bats; and Jim Mork seems to think it is hyperbole by me to acknowledge it happens in my neighborhood. Jim talks about the cost of penal institutions. Tell me Mr. Mork, if you had the money, what would it be worth to keep your child from being murdered, worth to keep your wife from being raped, worth to keep your family from being terrorized? If put to the question our community would have paid a whole lot to keep Eric Stonechild from being beaten to death this past week. So I ask Mr. Mork to do what he continually asks others to do, put aside your fantasy and compare real numbers and worth. What is it worth if it is YOUR family, and YOUR community? I agree we need to do something besides warehousing people and giving them the time to strengthen the criminal subculture, but if you do not have a captive audience you will not get very far with your sermons and education. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------- Zippin Zack's Notice and Threat of Law Suit: Zippin Zack is correct when he says, " I have never been escorted from anywhere, at anytime, by any law enforcement agency!" if he is only talking about the last Ventura Village meeting. He WAS NOT escorted out by the police to my knowledge. He either left before they got there, or left on his own as they were arriving. Were the police called because Zack was screaming, disturbing the peace, and being very threatening to people in their own neighborhood meeting? Yes! I think more than one person called them. With at least two ministers, among a room full of witnesses, who were very upset by Basim's and Zack's zippin, I am sure enough testimony could be found to cause Zack's lawyers to think twice about spurious suits and counter claims for legal fees. So have at it Zack. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------- Question for Barb Lickness: It was reported by people sitting alongside her, that Barb Lickness was getting an earful from Basim Sabri about what he was going to do. Perhaps something he was planning for Ventura Village? Perhaps Barb could clarify exactly what Mr. Sabri boasted he was going to do? Or threatened he was going to do? It was only hear say to me so I will not repeat it at this time, but as a direct source Barb Lickness might be able to shed some light on this matter. Don't worry about suits Barb; other people heard it also. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------- Question for United States Attorney Hefelfinger (I hope I did not butcher the spelling too badly) Some folks say talk of "owning" politicians and taking over neighborhoods is just loud mouthed boasting and should be ignored. But when does loudmouthed boasting become threatening, and when does it warrant a full investigation by the Justice Department and the Hennepin County Attorney? Perhaps attorneys on the "List" might tell us, "What ever happened to the RICO Act in this country"? Is US Attorney Hefelfinger assigning someone to investigate this matter? I seem to remember something about taking over union organizations and suborning voter fraud as part of the reason for RICO. Perhaps the US Attorney should look at some Mid-Western versions. Just the bragging about doing so should at least warrant an investigation, one would think.
