There was some chatter on the list last week about local GLBT publications. List members might be interested to know that employees of Minneapolis-based Lavender magazine voted 10-0 Monday for union representation. They will be represented by the Minnesota Newspaper Guild Typographical Union, which also represents employees of the Pioneer Press, Star Tribune and several smaller units. The Lavender employees become the first unionized GLBT publication in the nation. Now the Guild will work with Lavender employees to negotiate a contract.
