A few more points to add: Moving SCCM to Azure for IaaS, clients still need to connect and communicate. Think of IaaS as just extending your datacenter into Azure. Would you still want to expose that raw to the Internet? Probably not. So this in itself does not help the client roaming scenario.

I did find a setting just this week that helps with the below prompt. It’s not exactly related to default associations. My issue was when I would click a mailto: link from email, I would get the below prompt, no matter how many times I clicked Always use this app. [cid:image014.jpg@01D33CFC.273
