Ricky,
How are you building your reference image? It sounds like maybe something is messed up in there, or perhaps you have some Group Policies that are applying after the fact, that are screwing with things? Did you ever, for example, use a Group Policy to uninstall the ConfigMgr client? I would recommend reviewing all of your GPOs, and if you can, post the details of your Build & Capture and Deployment task sequences. Hi Experts. After some ideas of the cause of the below as im stumped. Any suggestions welcome, no we cant upgrade to 2012 yet :( During OSD, we are finding oddities that the machine isnt fully built, although appears it is. * Its asking for Windows licence on bootup. (we use default KMS key during install, then activates against out KMS server) * If you reboot it, goes into recovery mode, cant boot up in safe mode either. * No ccmsetup folder exists. * No applets for sccm in control panel. Troubleshooting so far: * Checked the advert report for the build, No errors. * Checked the smsts.log and other logs after build - No errors. * Checked event viewer - no errors. * Can see the machine application events and the KMS server all doing the acttviation requests. * If I rerun ccmsetup, applets are back, all the various ICP folders appear in ccm directory. Unable to replicate the issue. If the engineers rebuild the machine it will eventually be ok, but sometimes takes a few goes till its ok. SCCM 2007 SP2 R2 Windows 7 x86 Thanks.
