If you run the following query on SCCM 2012 does updatetype return for you? It returns blank for me on SCCM 2012, but returns Microsoft Update on SCCM 2007.
select distinct updatetype from dbo.v_updateinfo [cid:image004.jpg@01CF6397.C5C669C0] If I run the same query on SCCM 2007 it does return updatetype of Microsoft Update.
