[mssms] Application installs not happening automatically

2016-05-10 Thread Troy Martin
I've noticed on two ConfigMgr 1602 environments that application installs are
not occurring automatically and (near) immediately after/once the client
downloads policy. The only way to have the application installs begin is to
trigger an Application Deployment Evaluation Cycle client action. Once done,
the install begins immediately. During my evaluation and testing of this
behavior, I've purposely waited a couple of days on about 10 clients before
triggering the client action.

However, if deploying a legacy package to the same devices, those begin the
installs (near) immediately after receiving policy. I've only seen this with
Applications.

Of the two sites where this behavior is occurring, one is a (lab) new 1602
install and the other is an (production/live) 2012->1511->1602 migration.

Anyone else seeing this in their environment(s)?

RE: [mssms] Migrating Bitlocker Clients?

2016-05-10 Thread James Avery
That’s very true.

I found the switch to remove the PIN. This allows them to have the system
reboot twice.

Thanks Jason!

He’s using ADMT to migrate clients between AD domains, not a TS. Having said
that though, they still should be able to make use of a TS with a little
creativity to accomplish their goals though.

Huh? Where is the non automated bit here? You can disable the PIN as a part of
the TS no?

That’s what I was thinking. Removing the pin is a major pain.

My customer was thinking of having the user give their pin to desktop tech for
the migration, then have the end user reset their pin after the migration. But
that means it’s a manual migration. YUK!

If you could get around the PIN, it would be pretty useless.

You’ll have to disable bitlocker before the migration and then enable it after.

I don’t know if this is a correct group to ask this question.

Has anyone migrated Clients with Bitlocker + PIN reporting to MBAM (not AD) to
another domain?

We’re trying to figure out how to get around the pin when using ADMT.

If you can wait a week, John... that'll be one of my demos. Exactly how to
write a wql for a specific installed update.

Where the heck is installed updates listed in SQL/WQL now? I can’t seem to find
that. I need to create a collection of all devices with KB3139923 installed so
I can remove it.

[mssms] Report to show deadline for adverts.

2016-05-10 Thread HELMS, DAVID C
It doesn't appear that the deadline or "Assignment schedule" is available when
looking at the deployments for a particular package. However this
information is available when looking under the deployment settings for
Software Update groups. If this info isn't available in the console, where
would I find it in the database so I can create my own report to display this
info? It would be much easier to view a report displaying this info than
having to open up each advert to check.

Anyone else have a solution or know where this information is stored?

Thanks,

David

[mssms] report

2016-05-10 Thread David McSpadden
I am looking for a report of all the patches in a deployment.
I would like to send a report each month of the patches that are being
deployment.
A simple KB article list is sufficient but I can't find one I can use for this.
Everything I have found want's to give me the number of computers in a
deployment or the compliance of a deployment. Etc...
Anyone have anything down and dirty for this?

[mssms] met in multi disk systems

2016-05-10 Thread Stuart Watret
Morning,
Most of the machines I deal with have a single disk.

A new HP z240 appeared for a test build and after leaving it building on Friday
I’ve come back to the original OS in place.
After checking it was actually a new day, diskpart reveals the disk I want is
listed as disk 2.

I’ve modified my TS to target disk 2 just to prove the point, but how are you
all managing targeting the correct disk in multitask machines.

Can I add some logic around the format step to id this model, or just a new TS
for multitask machines?

Or quite possibly I’m over thinking it.

Thanks

SW
