Hi Stuart, This will be a hard question to answer as if any of the systems have HW RAID then the OS will see that as one physical disk. The only way to see each disk within a HW Raid is for you to install the WMI provider (if one exists) for the HW RAID controller then inventory the data

For Corporate devices we use Configuration Manager and all mobile users have VPN access. For non employees and BYOD instances we use Team Viewer with pricing for concurrent usage which should be cheaper and easier to manager. We figured out there would be less than 5 concurrent users at a time.
