It would be nice if the BIOS could be in FlashROM. That way, the BIOS can be
gradually enhanced and updated. The first release will then be earlier, and
eventual bugs etc. can be corrected later. It also opens the possibility to

Yes, it easily can if you have an IDE version #4.1 interface because
that one has a socket for the flashrom. Flashrom types that can be used:
AM29F010 (128kB) and AM29F040 (512kB);
