[MSX] Sonyc
I bought a couple of years ago a MSX game called Sonyc from Manuel Pazos (I think) who was at the Tilburg Fair back then. I played it lots of times with great pleasure, but now, or my floppydrive starts playing up, or the disk is going bad, because I can hardly get the game to work anymore. Is it possible to put it on harddisk? I tried Getdisk (or something like that) but that didn't work: the game doesn't start. Another thing: Is it possible to save during play so I can start from there instead of from the beginning. Are there cheats or codes to start from somewhere else in the game? Greetings and a happy New Year! Hapzee ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx
[MSX] IDE harddisk setup
Does anyone has a quick install guide or disk to install an IDE harddisk as quick as possible with most tools, utils, menu's and startup files on it? I remember having one for the Green SCSI controller, but I don't have that one anymore. (and don't know if that disk would work) Greetings and a Happy New Year, Hapzee ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx

I remember having one for the Green SCSI controller, but I don't have that one anymore. (and don't know if that disk would work) Luciano Sturaro wrote a guide, but it's in portuguese. It's here[1], if you don't find anything else or if you don't mind reading the engrish spoken by the fish[2]. It's not really difficult, though. There you'll find an utility disk (ideutils). Boot with that, run idefdisk, make the partitions (autogenerate and write the table) and format. Reboot. Now you can copy the system files (both command2.com and msxdos2.sys) to the first partition in your harddisk (here it's C:, but it may differ on your system). You're almost done... there are just minor tweaks, and they're on Sturaro's page (mainly setting the environment variable expert to on, since some programs will complain about the DOS version and won't run without that). Sonyc is freeware according to Manuel Pazos' website. http://personales.mundivia.es/mpazos/ At the end of that page you can find the link. I think that the disk version there is not copy-protected, then working from HD should be at least 'easier'. But I think that Manuel could help you better than I do. Just copy the files to your HDD and it should work ;) Happy New Year! Manuel ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx
